Take Action
As a partner agency of the Central Texas Food Bank, we, along with 260 Central Texas agencies, participate in the Feeding Texas Network. CTFB and Micah 6 of Austin join 200 other food banks and 60,000 food pantries across the nation to combat hunger through the Feeding America Network. We believe that ending hunger is possible.

Learn about Hunger
At Micah 6, we know that there is enough food for everyone. The challenge is getting it to folks who are hungry.
Feeding Texas is a statewide network of 20 food banks leading a unified effort to end hunger in Texas. Our goal is to ensure access to adequate, nutritious food for all Texans, improve the health and financial stability of the communities we serve, and engage all stakeholders in advocating for hunger solutions.

Organize a Food Drive
Micah 6 distributes more than 10,000 pounds of food each month. Just over half the food comes from the Central Texas Food Bank. We rely on direct donations for the rest. Volunteers pick food up at area stores like Randalls, H-E-B, Whole Foods, Pepperidge Farm, and Trader Joe’s. Our Member Congregations make regular donations of food as well.
Help us keep our stockroom filled with shelf staple food so that we always have enough to share with our neighbors.

Advocate for Change
“The Central Texas Food Bank knows that reductions to SNAP result in increased reliance on our services. When families can’t adequately supplement their household food budgets…, they turn to food banks. Food banks alone cannot respond to increases in food insecurity without the support of our federal partners. It’s critical that lawmakers continue to fund SNAP and bolster commodity programs like TEFAP to ensure that families and food banks can withstand a fluctuating economic landscape.”
