Micah 6 of Austin

What does the Lord require of you? To do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.
— Micah 6:8

At Micah 6, we believe every person deserves dignity, compassion, and the comfort of a full meal. We’re more than just a food pantry and drop-in center for street youth — we’re a sanctuary of hope, a place where our neighbors can find support during their most challenging moments. Micah 6 of Austin has been an essential service to hungry folks in Austin for more than 20 years!

We welcome all individuals to participate fully in our programs, regardless of race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Do Justice

Do justice by engaging in honest conversations, seeking understanding across differences, and standing up for fairness in our community. Whether through education, advocacy, or everyday choices, pursue what is right by treating others with dignity and working to ensure that systems and opportunities are equitable for all. Doing justice means not staying silent in the face of inequality, but stepping in with courage, compassion, and a commitment to the common good.

At Micah 6 of Austin, we love kindness by compassionately serving all who come to us for assistance, recognizing the inherent worth and humanity in every person. Kindness means meeting needs without judgment, offering hospitality with open hearts, and walking alongside our neighbors in times of hardship. It’s a posture of grace — showing up with empathy, patience, and the willingness to care deeply, just as God has shown kindness to us.

Walk Humbly

We walk humbly by listening first, learning from those we serve, and recognizing that we don’t have all the answers. We create space for reflection and growth, valuing every voice and fostering trust. Humility calls us to collaborate rather than control, to lead with compassion, and to stay focused on the well-being of the community. Real change happens through partnership, shared leadership, and mutual respect.
