Help Micah 6 keep our doors open to serve everyone in need. Donations to Micah 6 support all our programs, including the Food Pantry and Street Youth services.
Micah 6 Food pantry donations
Micah 6 distributes more than 10,000 pounds of food each month. Just over half the food comes from the Central Texas Food Bank. We rely on direct donations for the rest. Volunteers pick food up at area stores like Randalls, H-E-B, Whole Foods, Pepperidge Farm, and Trader Joe’s. Our Member Congregations make regular donations of food as well.
Food donation guidelines:
Healthy, non-perishable food, including donations from community or backyard gardens
Non-breakable packaging (no glass)
Intact, unopened consumer or commercial packaging
Not expired
Non-perishable donation suggestions:
Canned meats such as tuna and stew (pop-tops preferred)
Canned vegetables and soup
Beans
Healthy cereals
Peanut butter
Packaged milk and juice that requires no refrigeration
Reusable bags for our shoppers
