History

  • 2017: Barry Smith becomes Executive Director. The Dan Robertson Food Pantry is dedicated in memory of former Board President, Dan Robertson.

  • 2016: Kassia Vaughan becomes Director of Volunteer Engagement.

  • 2014: Riena Long becomes Director of Pantry Operations. Randall “Mac” McKaskle becomes Director of Street Youth Outreach.

  • 2013: Jan Hames becomes Coordinator and then Interim Pantry Director.

  • 2012: Street Youth Drop-in Center opens. Joe Bell becomes Pantry Director.

  • 2010: Micah 6 of Austin is named Agency of the Year by Capital Area Food Bank.

  • 2009: The food pantry moves at larger space in the basement of University Presbyterian Church.

  • 2005: Linda Williams is hired as Pantry Director. Micah 6 signs an agreement with the Capital Area Food Bank.

  • 2004: Micah 6 of Austin is incorporated as a 501(c)3.

  • 2003: The Micah 6 Council signs an agreement to manage an ongoing food pantry at University Baptist Church.

  • 2002: The Micah 6 Coalition is created. Representatives from the nine churches form the Micah 6 Council.

  • 2001: Clergy from nine churches in the University of Texas area explore partnering in their outreach ministries.
